DUNFERMLINE ATHLETIC LADIES returned to winning ways on Sunday by securing a derby success against McDermid Ladies.

The Pars went into their latest Scottish Women's Football League (SWFL) East league encounter having lost their previous three matches, which included an SWFL Plate quarter-final after extra-time to Linlithgow Rose, who have gone on to reach the final against Musselburgh Windsor.

Either side of that loss, Charles Dignan's team had lost at home to Glenrothes Strollers, and away to Edinburgh South, but were back on the winning trail at Pitreavie.

Dunfermline, for whom under-18s player, Rachel Dick, played her first senior match, took the lead in the match but were pegged back by their opponents.

However, a goal from Tyler Sibbons gave them the lead for a second time, before a brace from Alex Davie secured a convincing 4-1 success.

The Pars are fifth in the table, with 24 points from 14 matches played, having won eight and lost six.

On Sunday, they are scheduled to travel to leaders Armadale Thistle, who are unbeaten and have won all-but one of their 13 games, and kick off is at 2.30pm.
