A NUMBER of Dunfermline artists are gearing up to support Nick Shane at his Dunfermline gig.

Nick, who has performed both on the streets of Dunfermline and inside its venues, is excited to play his first headline show since performing with The NSA in 2015.

And he's even more excited to do so with "the ultimate best of Dunfermline" supporting him.

He told the Press: "I'm really happy to be playing such great parts of the country on our tour, and Dunfermline is probably my favourite place in the world.

"Absolutely buzzing to play my very first headline show in Dunfermline since The NSA in 2015. We've managed to gather all my favourite local bands as support which is magical."

One band joining Nick at The Dugg House will be SWITCH, a group made up by Gregor Graham (17), Cara Steven (18), Liam MacKintosh (19) and Billy Caldwell James (15), who have been encouraged to “carry on” by the band's predecessor and Cara's dad, Mark Robert Steven.

Jazz pianist and singer Ayla Ersoy, another rising star in Dunfermline, will also be supporting Nick.

Lawrie Welsh, Alfie Seaborne, Owen Muir and Gregor Foy will take to the stage as The Dirty Cooks, a Dunfermline-based grunge and punk-inspired alt-rock band.

Toastie, a five-piece Dunfermline band, and Scott Gilbert, will also be performing. Nick first met Scott when they both opened for Gerry Cinnamon at The Old Inn in 2015, and he can't wait to get the opportunity to play together once again.

The final band joining Nick and the rest of the Dunfermline support acts is We Are Delta, a young and promising band who know their way around Indie music.

Just one stop on his UK-wide tour, Nick will be making the most of his Dunfermline show, to not only bring great music to the door of The Dugg House but to also bring awareness.

Nick has invited the Fife branch of the  Stop The War Coalition to set up shop during the gig and they will be there with a merchandise and information stall.

The gig will take place at The Dugg House on Guildhall Street on Saturday, May 11, at 7pm.
