A man was shocked to find his stalking ex-partner standing on the doorstep of his new home in Dunfermline.

He had suffered months of stalking from 48-year-old Katrena Colson, following the break-up of their relationship.

Colson, of Herman Street, Edinburgh, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court for sentencing.

She admitted that between June 25 and January 8, at various locations in Edinburgh and at an address in Dunfermline, she engaged in stalking behaviour towards her former partner.

She persistently made unwanted phone calls to him, left voicemail messages, attended at his home in Edinburgh, attempted to gain access, sent him emails, attended at his place of work, attended at his new home in Dunfermline and attempted to enter.

The court was told Colson had met the man when they worked in the same building in Edinburgh. They began a relationship in 2022 and Colson left her husband.

However, in May last year, the man ended the relationship and during the following months Colson bombarded him with unwanted messages.

In October, he moved to Dunfermline and on January 8 Colson turned up at the house at around 10pm. He managed to get her out of the doorway then called the police.

Sheriff Wylie Robertson fined Colson £1040 and imposed a non-harassment order for three years.
