A local stage school will be returning to the International Festival of Dance and Performing Arts at Disneyland Paris in 2024.

Act Sing Dance Schools (ASDS), which has a branch in Inverkeithing, will be sending 20 students aged 12 to 17, to Disneyland Paris in March to compete in the famous all-genre dance competition.

“So they’re going back this time to kind of defend those titles, so you can imagine the excitement that’s going on.”

The team going to Paris includes Hollie Wilson, Calum Coutts, Grace Gow, Louis McNorton, Adam Gallagher, Ross Monaghan, Libby Short, James Martin, Hannah Martin, Lyndsey Harper, Robin Mulube, Sierra Sturrock, Alexander Martin, Ava Kearsley, Carlotta Di Ciacca, Annie Stuart, Anna Elvin, Matthew Wood, Kiera Calder, and Jamie Farmer. 

The stage school offer classes that teach skills in dance, acting, and singing, and it also gives students the chance to perform on stage. Young people aged 4 to 18 can attend the stage school, with 4 and 5 year olds attending the junior stage school.

ASDS helps prepare young people for careers in the entertainment industry and helps them to secure places on drama courses.

Zôe added that the school has “a 100% success rate in getting students into drama courses.”

A range of dance performances will be taking place at the competition including jazz, contemporary, ballet, tap, musical theatre, and open street and hip hop.

The students are also currently working on a musical, Chicago, which they will be performing in June 2024.

Students will be in Paris for the competition from Thursday, March 14 to Monday, March 18.
