Donibristle Primary School have had a brand-new trim trail installed after a long fundraising campaign.

The trail was installed by Caledonia Play, a Kinross company that manufactures play equipment, and is designed to challenge children from the youngest years right through to Primary 7.

The school held an official opening and were joined by Linsey Affleck, from Dalgety Bay-based Ingenico, who supported the campaign, as well as representatives from the school fundraising group.

The co-chairs of the fundraising committee, Ruth Aitken and Mhairi Anthony, said in a join statement: "Fundraising events have played a huge part in raising funds for the trim trail and our pupils and their families always support us with enthusiasm and generosity.

“The fundraising group is delighted that we’ve been able to help with this project and it’s brilliant to see the children enjoying the new equipment."

Among those to try out the trim trail was P7 pupil Lucas King.

He said: "It's really good fun - it's challenging and you have to use your climbing skills. It's fun to make your friends wobbly on the spinning log."

Louie Harry, of P4, added: "I really like it because it has monkey bars and swingy things too.”

Karen Hart, depute head teacher thaanked the wider community of Donibristle friends and families who responded to the Go Fund Me pages and so kindly donated.

She added: "We even had a donation from someone in Oxfordshire whose father did his National Service at RAF Donibristle."
