TESCO has shortlisted three Dunfermline causes to receive a grant aimed at supporting young people.

The Stronger Starts fund has already backed thousands of community projects and good causes across the UK.

The scheme, which runs in partnership with Groundwork UK, is open to all schools, registered charities and not-for-profit organisations, with priority given to those providing food and help for young people.

In Dunfermline the three organisations chosen are Bellyeoman Primary School, SSERC Ltd and Beanstalk Family Nurture Centre.

At Bellyeoman the money would be used to transform the playground by purchasing new equipment.

SSERC Ltd is a not-for-profit company and a registered Scottish charity set up for the benefit of Scottish education.

All 32 Scottish local authorities are members of the company, which is based within Pitreavie Business Park.

Beanstalk Family Nurture Centre is a custom-built nursery for children between two and five-years-old.

It has locations on Fergus Place and Aberdour Road.

The scheme works using blue tokens given to Tesco customers at checkout which can then be used to vote for a cause which they think should receive a grant.

These can amount to £1,500, £1,000 and £500.

Voting is open from the first week in October until mid-January 2024 and will be available in Tesco's Duloch, Rosyth, Dalgety Bay, Fire Station and Aberdour Road stores.
