Police are searching for an RAF serviceman, believed to be from Dunfermline, after he dissappeared in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Corrie McKeague, 23, who is based at RAF Honington,Suffolk, has been missing since a night out with friends in Bury St Edmunds.

Police say his disappearance is "out of character".

Mr McKeague was last seen in Brentgovel Street around 3.20am on Saturday, 24 September and has not been seen or been in contact with anyone since.

He was reported as missing to police on Monday afternoon.

CCTV footage appears to show him briefly sleeping in a doorway before getting up and moving on - possibly with the aim of walking the nine miles back to the base.

The National Police Air Service helicopter has been up assisting with searches in the area and Police have made numerous enquiries including talking with friends and family, checking with local taxi firms and working to identify CCTV.

Police are also asking dog walkers or anyone who may be out in the countryside around Bury St Edmunds to get in touch if they notice anything unusual and are asking residents to check any outbuildings.

Corrie is described as white, 5ft 10ins tall, of medium build, with short light brown hair. He was wearing a light pink shirt and white jeans or trousers at the time he was last seen.

A Suffolk Police spokesman said: "As time passes police are growing increasingly concerned for his welfare and officers are asking anyone who may have seen Corrie, or anyone who has any information on his whereabouts, to contact the duty sergeant at Bury St Edmunds on 101."
