A BLACK Mercedes GLA has become the latest luxury car stolen in Dunfermline.

The incident happened last Wednesday (August 24) following a housebreaking at an address in Knapphill, Dunfermline, between 10-11.30pm.

It follows a recent spate of similar crimes in West Fife where it appears that high-value cars have been targeted specifically .

The Mercedes has since been recovered outwith Fife but police in Fife are appealing for witnesses. 

Detective Sergeant Kelly McEwan, of Dunfermline CID, said: “Although this vehicle has been recovered, we are still eager to trace those responsible.

“Anyone with information regarding this crime, or any similar incidents are asked to contact police as soon as possible.

“We would like to remind members of the public to take extra care regarding the security of their home and vehicles and ensure all doors are locked, even when you are at home, and all car keys are kept in a secure place, out of easy reach.”
